Morning Has Broken & Love Is In The Air

Having only gotten properly back into my one photo a day challenge on Monday 9th March and liking having my week starting on Thursday instead. I’m keeping this one short and then I can start properly again on Thursday. Doing it this way also takes some of the pressure off as I’ve been finding it difficult even just picking my camera up over the last few weeks.

Make It Happen! – 09/03/2026

I finally got my hands on a 10-18mm lens to try out some wide angle shots with Jax and boy was this just what I needed to find the joy of photography again. I love the effect it wide angle gives with animals, it makes every image just that bit more fun, especially with vibrant backgrounds. Definitely want to try this lens outside with him too. Taken using my Canon 250D and 10-18mm lens.

Morning Has Broken – 10/03/2026

It’s been a very grey start to 2026, there’s been very few mornings (or even days) which hasn’t been cloudy and grey so when I woke up today and saw the sky wasn’t filled with grey clouds, I grabbed my camera on the way out for the dog walk. Half way round this blackbird was singing his heart out at the top of the tree and with the sun rising I just couldn’t not grab a quick snap of him. Captured with my Canon 250D and 18-55mm lens.

Love Is In The Air – 11/03/2026

Sometimes, you end up in the right place at the right time but with the wrong lens. This is what happened today so there’s a lot of noise on this image from cropping in that could have been prevented but when you’re out walking the dog and spot a heart shaped balloon floating on by you have to just lift your camera and do what you can to get the shot. Taken using my Canon 250D and 50mm lens.

After struggling so much to get behind the camera the last few weeks, this short week of daily photos has been just what I needed to find my feet again. The weather also seems to be getting better again as well which helps me actually get outside with my camera. I’m excited to see what next week brings and I’m glad to find my drive again with photography and being creative.
