Hey, I’m Carrie!
When I was a teenager, I was the friend who always carried a camera with her. You could pretty much bet that I’d be there on a night out or even just hanging out with friends during the day that I’d have my camera on me to record the event. I loved documenting everything and also ensuring a moment never passed me by. When I was 16 I dreamt of going to college to study photography, until my parents convinced me to stay on at school to do my A Levels.
This was where I fell in love with Graphic Design, but if I’m being honest the love of photography never left me. Though the belief that I could be a photographer did. If my parents thought I couldn’t make it as a photographer then why try?!
After a while, and as phones started to have better cameras, I stopped taking my camera out with me. In stopped documenting life and how I see the world but there has always been a niggling feeling that photography is something I would like to explore.
So now here I am nearly mid 30’s picking up my camera and trying to get back into the habit of taking photos again. Documenting my life, finding my photography style, unleashing my creativity and experimenting with photography by taking one photo a day.
Each week, I’ll be reviewing and critiquing each day’s photograph as I explore my preferred subjects and editing style. I’ll also post the day’s photo on my Flickr every day, as well printing each photo out for me to create a physical journal of the year.
At the moment my kit contains a Canon EOS 250D with 24mm, 50mm, 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses, an Instax Mini Evo and my iPhone 16 Pro.
